August 2010: Cuban, Level V (Cuban Casino – fourth month)

Paseala
1: Normal Dile Que No from closed, but M turns ½ R on 5-7 & hand changes from L-R to R-R behind his back.
2: Switch to “Hey Bro” R-R hand hold & lead a R-R Dile Que No, switching back on L-R on 7. (W steps back on 1, forward on 2, & rotates to R & steps to the side on 3, then forward on 5, gradually turn L on 6 &  7 to open up. W can grab M’s R forearm w/ her L hand about 5.

Paseala w/ MRT (R-R)
On 5-7, M does a WRT under R-R (kind of like a Ronde). Note that the W steps forward on 5, not backward as would be the case in a cumbia.

Pattern w/ Paseala
1: Start Paseala
2: Finish Paseala

3: Vacilala
Repeat 1-3

Pattern (to be finished next week)
1: Dile Que No
2: Hecho, wrapping R-L around W’s neck as she turns
3: Take L-R low, then W’s Deshecho to Pretzel 2 (on 5-7, M steps forward & under R-L on5; to L on 6; back & under L-R on7, pivoting 1/4R. Note stepping forward on 5 is the opposite of what would happen w/ M Deshecho.)
4: W’s Deshecho (L-R over W’s head, R-L low) to M’s Ronde (L-R low, R-L high over M’s head)
5: Walk clockwise on 1-3, then M’s Deschecho (R-L over M’s head)
6: W’s Deschecho (both hands over W’s head) to M’s Ronde, taking L-R over M’s head, with both hands going to M’s waist
7: Weight lifting (on 1 have hands at M’s waist, take them over M’s head & down to his shoulders on 5, and back down to waist by next 1)
8: Same as 7

Dile Que No hints:
It is like a normal XB, but M rotates about 135 degrees instead of 90 degrees on 3. W steps to her R side on 3 so she’ll be in line with the new XB direction.
W brings her feet together on about 4 as a light tap.

Pattern:

1: Start Paseala
2: Finish Paseala
3: Vacilala, wrapping R-L around W’s neck as she turns
4: Take L-R low, then W’s Deshecho to Pretzel 2 (on 5-7, M steps forward & under R-L on5; to L on 6; back & under L-R on7, pivoting 1/4R. Note stepping forward on 5 is the opposite of what would happen w/ M Deshecho.)
5: W’s Deshecho (L-R over W’s head, R-L low) to M’s Ronde to M's RT hammerlock (R-L high over M’s head, L-R low). M’s R elbow goes over L-R to M can hold his R hand low in front of W.
6: Walk clockwise on 1-3, then M’s Deschecho to M's RT hammerlock (R-L over M’s head)
7: W’s Deschecho (both hands over W’s head)  to M’s Ronde, taking L-R over M’s head, with both hands going to M’s waist
8: Weight lifting (on 1 have hands at M’s waist, take them over M’s head & down to his shoulders on 5, and back down to waist by next 1)
9: Same as 7, but after 5 keep R-L on M’s R shoulder & bring L-R over to it on 7
10: Exhibela to W’s RT hammerlock, keeping R-L low
11: W’s Deshecho, to pull-in with M’s R-L elbow lock
12: M releases R-L & reaches over & around W’s L arm to take her R arm in front of her navel. M leads Paseala, with hand change to L-R then to R-R behind M’s back
13: Finish Paseala

Variation from last week’s pattern:
1-5 same as last week
6: Walk clockwise
7: On 1-3 walk clockwise & do this hand change: clamp W’s R arm under M’s R elbow, release L-R, & M reaches L around to his front to take W’s L hand, then M’s arm slides down to take W’s R hand, ending in L-L/R-R; then M’s Deschecho on 5-7 to R-R/L-L
8: Dile Que No w/ R-R (“hey bro” grip)

Enchufla:
Rueda move – W’s deschecho to pull-in, then DileQueNo

Enchufla Con Dame:
Rueda move – W’s deschecho, then start of M’s deshecho where on 7 M puts L-R on his stomach & raises his R elbow above L-R. Then M releases L-R & picks up next W in a DileQueNo.

DileQueNo hint – take W’s R wrist then slide to “hey bro” grip

Side to side basic
This is like a cumbia basic, but steps inside of & next to other foot instead of outside & below the foot as in cumbia. Lean to the left on 3-6 & to right on 7-2
Can leave off the steps on 2 and 6.

** For Enchufla, pull woman forward on around previous 7 so that she steps a little forward on 1.

Enchufla Con Dame Con Giro

same as Enchufla Con Dame, except M does L turn on second 1-3.  On7 before, man steps into circle starting to turn to L (so his Rshoulder is facing center of circle more or less), on 1 M steps radially out of circle, on 2 M steps a little to the L & then completes turn on 3 & picks up W.
